Built different

A color analysis test built for your skin tone, not someone else’s.

Measured, not guessed

A quiz asks what you think your undertone is. ToneMatch measures actual CIE LAB color values — the science behind professional dye labs and cosmetics.

Calibrated for warm skin

South Asian, Southeast Asian, Latina, Middle Eastern, and mixed heritage complexions were the primary design brief — not an afterthought. This is where most tools fail.

Used in 40+ countries

USA, Malaysia, Germany, Spain, Finland, Canada, the UAE — and 30+ more. A palette designed for the world’s actual range of complexions.

Seeing is deciding

The same face. Two colors.
One obvious answer.

This is the entire idea of color analysis in one picture — the right color makes skin look rested and even; the wrong one drains it. ToneMatch finds which side of this picture every color in the shop belongs to, for your skin specifically.

Side-by-side comparison: the same woman in a draining wrong-season dress versus a flattering season color
✕ Not her season — drains & shadows ✓ Her season — skin looks lit from within
Virtual drape lab

Hold every color under your chin — without owning it

The exact test a $300 colorist does with fabric drapes, on your own photo. Tap a shade, watch your face respond, hold to compare with the original. Flattering colors and draining ones — because seeing what fails you is half the lesson.

  • 5 drape colors free · every color in Pro

Exact makeup shades

Not “warm undertone.” The actual shade number.

Pro translates your measured skin values into the specific foundation, lip and blush shades to ask for at the counter — Fenty, MAC and NARS — so “find your undertone” finally ends in a purchase you don’t return.

  • Foundation matched to your measured LAB values
  • Lip & blush shades from your season’s palette

AI try-on

See the makeup, the hair color, the whole look — on you

One tap renders your season’s makeup, a new hair color, or a lookbook of outfits in your exact palette — photorealistic, on your own photo, with your face untouched. The most convincing argument for a color is watching it work on you.

What people say

They found their palette.
You can too.

“I’ve been told I’m a Summer my whole life but something always felt off. ToneMatch identified me as Soft Autumn and suddenly everything makes sense — why terracotta makes me glow and lavender makes me look ill.”

“I’ve taken every color quiz online. This is the first that didn’t tell me ‘cool summer’ when I clearly have warm olive skin. The science actually works. Finally bought foundation in the right undertone.”

A quiz asks you to categorize your own undertone. Most people get it wrong — especially with warm, olive, or medium-depth skin where the distinction is subtle. ToneMatch measures the actual LAB color values of your skin pixels under calibrated white balance. That’s what professional colorists do manually with fabric drapes. We automate that step.
Yes — and this is where the most calibration effort went. Most color analysis tools have the worst accuracy on warm, olive, medium, and deep skin tones. ToneMatch was specifically tuned for these complexions. If existing tools have felt inaccurate for your coloring, that’s the gap we’re trying to close.
After analysis you can adjust your undertone reading — warm, neutral, or cool — if something looks off. That correction feeds directly back into the color recommendations. And if your coloring sits between two seasons, ToneMatch says so openly and gives you a 10-second mirror test to settle it, rather than pretending to a certainty it doesn’t have.
The color analysis runs entirely in your browser — your photo is processed on your device and is never uploaded for the free or Pro analysis. One exception, clearly marked in the app: if you choose the optional AI Try-On feature, your photo is sent securely to our image provider (Google Gemini) to generate that specific preview, and is not stored by ToneMatch.
Free gives you the real analysis: your season, 6 flattering colors with hex codes, 3 to avoid with explanations, a virtual draping preview on your own photo, and your celebrity color twins. Pro ($9.99 one-time) adds the full 30+ color wardrobe palette, the complete drape lab, exact foundation and lip shades from Fenty, MAC, and NARS, AI try-on for makeup and hair, occasion outfit formulas, the complete never-wear list, your Style DNA, and a printable wallet card. If your result was a close call, Pro includes your second season’s palette too. No subscription — ever.
Yes — image consultants and personal stylists can use our separate Stylist tier, which adds a client-ready export that formats the full analysis as a polished report your client keeps after a consultation. Email us at tonematchapp@gmail.com for Stylist access and pricing.
A selfie taken in natural daylight near a window, with no filter, no heavy makeup, and your face clearly visible. Avoid flash photography and colored lighting — these shift the apparent undertone of your skin and will affect the result. If the photo isn’t good enough, ToneMatch will tell you before running the analysis.

Stop wearing colors that almost work.

You already know which colors make you feel like yourself. ToneMatch gives you the science, the specific palette, and the language to build around them — and to stop buying anything that isn’t it.
